Halloween Breakfast

~ Goblin Boogers with a little Ghost Sneeze ~
We made a fun breakfast the other morning from a simple recipe. Remember Jamie's post about scrambled pancakes? You can see it here.  The directions are simple, we just added one thing and changed the name to make it fun for Halloween! LOL

Mix up your regular pancake mix according to the boxes directions. I used Bisquick. It called for 2 cups of bisquick, 1 cup of milk and 1 egg.

My extras....I add in cinnamon and sugar, and a little vanilla. I also add in a little more milk to make the batter thinner.

Now to make it fun for Halloween, just add in the green dye.

To cook...add a few pads of butter to your pan, pour in some batter and stir as if you were cooking scrambled eggs.  Keep cooking until all batter is cooked.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and its ready to serve.

All that is left is coming up with a funny/gross name for your treat!

We decided on Goblin Boogers for ours. Then once the powdered sugar was added, we thought it would be funny to say a ghost sneezed on the Goblin Boogers. LOL

Hope you enjoy this fun Halloween Treat!

My little girl has arrived!!

Well friends, my little lady decided she wanted to stay put! Not sure how long she would have stayed if we didn't force her out!! I was induced on October 15th at 41 weeks and 1 day pregnant.  She was born after a GRUELING hour of drug free labor, not because I'm some kind of wonder mom or super hero but because the epidural DID NOT WORK! ugh! It was the most pain I've ever been in...but it was only an hour and it was totally worth it. I am so in love with my sweet little lady!

Abi Grace is 7lbs 10oz and 20 inches of sweet baby girl!!

Recovery this time around is taking a lot longer than I hoped it would. But I'm enjoying snuggling with my little lady and watching the big kids play from the recliner. So blessed to have my parents here too, they have been incredibly helpful and I'm not sure how we would have done this without them! I'm also super thankful for the friends who have made us dinner and offered their help in so many ways. Sweet little Abi will be baptized tomorrow morning and we're so excited to have our family and friends here to witness her being welcomed into God's family!

Can't wait to share with you all the shirts I made for the kids!
Hopefully I'll have that post ready for you next Saturday (if not before!).

This little lady loves to sleep and I love to take her picture so it works out pretty well!!

You can see a few more photos on my photography website...some the same, some different.

Just Plain Ole Bread Pudding

Hi it's NeeCee again from PineCreek Style. I am here to share another family recipes.

Our family loves the ultimate comfort food; bread pudding. It is always expected to be on the menu for the holiday's.
Or, whenever the grand kids put in a special request.
(Who could refuse such cute kids with questioning lips and sad puppy-dog eyes? They know thatlook always melts Nonny's heart!)
Just Plain Old Bread Pudding

A cute note....One morning, our 3 year old daughter was eating bread pudding for breakfast.  A neighborhood had stopped in for a morning cup of coffee.
Her daughter asked my daughter, "Watch ya eating?".
Sissie replied; " Just plain old bread pudding!"
"AND... that's how we named my bread pudding!"
  "Our daughter...Tara aka Sissie"...
You will need a large bowl for mixing and a 9 x 13 oblong baking pan.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Just Plain Ole Bread Pudding by NeeCee
8 cups cubed of day old buttermilk bread, leave the crust on
9 eggs
2 1/4 cups whole milk
1 3/4 cups of heavy whipping cream
1 cup sugar (or sugar substitute/Truvia)
3/4 cup butter melted
3 teaspoons pure vanilla
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* Nuts are optional, may be added on top of each portion.
I also use toasted, salted pecans.
In a large mixing bowl place the cubed bread.
In a measuring pitcher mix;
ALL other ingredients, blending well.
 Mix Well...
Pour liquid ingredients over the cubed bread and mix well.
Cover all of the bread with the liquid.
Mixed and in the pan, ready too cook.
Place in a greased 9 x 13 baking pan, uncovered.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Check the center with a toothpick or knife when done, should come out clean. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Oh my Goodness-Golly! YUMMY for the TUMMY!
Yummy Caramel Sauce
*Grandma Hacker's Recipe

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
2 tablespoons of butter
1 cup heavy whipping cream
dash of table salt
Homemade Caramel
While the pudding is baking:

Bring sugar, water and lemon juice to a boil.
Reduce the burner to medium and cook until sugar is dissolved. the mixture will turn a golden amber color.
Stir in butter until it melts. Remove from heat.
Serve over bread pudding if desired.
*I usually only make this for Holiday's otherwise, I use ice cream topping!

Just plain ole good food served with Style...
NeeCee
