Beats by Dr. Dre Studio ~ Review & Giveaway

I was very excited when I was contacted by Staples to receive a pair of beats by dr. dre studio for review. My husband and I have been looking for a good pair of headphones for a while. We had heard {beats by dr. dre studio} were pretty nice and I couldn't wait to test them out.

While waiting for my headphones to arrive, I got a special lil surprise in the mail from my contact, Jessica. It was a Staples Easy Button. LOL I couldn't help but crack a smile. My life just became easier. YAY! My kids have since been pressing the button and the "that was easy" verse has been a regular sound here in my house. Although they were a little disappointed when it didn't make their homework magically get done! Gotta love that easy button.  Getting a {Lot of Laughs} over here! Thank you, Jessica!

. . . On to my review of these amazing headphones . . .
As soon as the headphones arrived I was impressed. Impressed with the packaging (yes, I loved the box it came in) quality, sound, carrying case and that I could use them for phone calls. I immediately put them to use. First we all (the kids and I) tried them out by listening to some music. The music sounded clear and precise. We all wanted to use them all night. When my husband got home he tried them out too. He said they were awesome and we got a kick out of him singing out loud. He even tried to steal them from me to take on the road. Nope, they are mine! LOL Ok, maybe I will share a little, but not just yet.
Next, I tried them out while making some phone calls. While they don't cancel out all noise (kids playing in the background) they do cancel it out enough so I can actually hear what the other person is saying. With other headphones I can still hear my kids and I have to stop and tell them to quiet down while I talk.  With these I don't have to at all.  I also worry about the other person hearing the kids in the background, but with the beats by dr. dre studio I don't. The microphone does a great job of canceling out the background noise.  I tested this out in the car, where it gets pretty loud sometimes and it passed.  I also want to mention that the transition from music to a phone call is smooth and when you hang up, it goes back to your music with ease.

The earcups size and cushion make the headphones very comfortable to wear. They are just the right size for children, teens and adults. I do have to say though at the cost of these headphones, I myself plan on only my husband and I using them and possibly supervised use for the kids.  The headphones are durable and I think they would be just fine for kids use, but it's our preference to keep them for adult use most of the time. The headphone case is very impressive with its rigid construction. I didn't even know they came with a case, so I was excited to know I had somewhere to safely keep my headphones and cords all in one place. This case will keep your headphones safe and together when traveling too!
I would definitely recommend the beats by dr. dre studio to family and friends. They would make a perfect gift for anyone any time of the year. Thanks again to Staples and Jessica for allowing me to host this review.

"People aren't hearing all the music.

Artists and producers work hard in the studio perfecting their sound. But people can't really hear it with normal headphones. Most headphones can't handle the bass, the detail, the dynamics. Bottom line, the music doesn't move you.

With Beats, people are going to hear what the artists hear, and listen to the music the way they should: the way I do." - Dr. Dre

It's All About Sound
Three years of thorough research and development resulted in the most incredible headphone speaker ever built. Beats features highly advanced materials and construction to deliver a new level of audio accuracy and clarity. Combining extra-large speaker drivers and a high-power digital amplifier, Beats delivers an unprecedented combination of super deep bass, smooth undistorted highs, and crystal clear vocals never heard before from headphones.

Less Noise, More Music With Powered Isolation
Today's digital audio recording technology gives music more detail than ever before. Unfortunately, the details get easily lost in today's noisy world: on the street, on the bus, on the plane. The best listening experience isn't just about what you hear, but what you don't. Monster's powered isolation technology actively cuts external noise, so you experience all the rich details your favorite artists want you to hear.

Extreme Comfort is Music to Your Ears
With Beats, you feel the music, not the headphones. Spacious earcups give you extra room for a higher level of listening comfort. Plush ear cushions covered with ultra-soft breathable materials keep you cool even when the music's hot.

Fun with Refashioned Furniture

Have Fun with Old but Refashioned Furniture
In the quest of creating a warm and cozy home, we're always looking for new ways to freshen up our décor. One of best ways to do that is to take old items inside the house and refashion them into something completely new.
Before throwing old household items away, find new use for them with these awesome repurposing ideas!
Drawers as Open Shelves

Before you get rid of that old desk or dresser, why not take out its drawers first and turn them into shelves. Turning your drawers into open shelves gives you more storage space, while giving those old storage solutions a new purpose.
Grab several drawers and hang them up the wall in any fashion you want, then use them as open shelves for your books, picture frames, and other knickknacks. You can even just stack them on top of one another if you don't have the time to mount them up the wall. And if you want to make your drawer shelves more appealing, you can revitalize them with a fresh coat of paint or varnish to make them look good as new.
Door Turned Headboard

If you've done some major redecorating in your home, you might have taken your door off its hinges. Don't let it gather dust in your garage or basement; instead, repurpose it into your new headboard.
Simply prop up the door on your wall and push your bed against it. You can let it stand as is or repaint it to match the design theme of your bedroom. If you want to go the extra step, you can attach small wall sconces on your new headboard for some lighting for your daily nighttime reads.
Photo Frame Message Board
If you recently switched out your picture frames, don't throw the old ones out just yet. You can use your old photo frames as cute message boards in the kitchen or living room.
Take out the back of the frame (if it still has one), then attach or tie a net with the same size as the photo frame to serve as the "board." You can also paint the frame and the net to add a bit of flair to them. Afterwards, use colored clothespins to serve as note clips. There you have it -- an easy-to-do message board! You can also clip and display family photos here for a more personal touch.
Another cute option for old frames is to turn them into chalk boards. This project is a piece of cake as well. You'll only need some chalk board paint to coat the board of your frame, and you're done!
Mirrored Serving Trays
Large Shabby Mirror Distressed Vintage Cottage Chic Romantic White Wicker AS IS Homco by @AnnClarkInteriors | classic as a wicker chair.
There's always that one old mirror that doesn't fit your décor but you don't want to throw out just yet. Upcycle this odd mirror into a tray to serve drinks with whenever you have guests over.
Any vanity-sized mirror will do as a serving tray. You can even attach handles (old door handles are perfect for this) to your tray to carry plates and glasses with ease. When not in use, you can just hang up your mirror tray in the kitchen or dining room as a display -- a definite perk!
Vamped-up Jewelry Holders
When you have an excess of tiered trays sitting around in your kitchen or china hutch, grab one and take it to the bedroom! The lovely designs on the plates instantly turn a vintage tiered tray into a classy jewelry holder where you can store and display your bracelets and rings. You can also use this tiered jewelry tray as a cell phone and MP3 player holder.
To keep your necklaces tangle-free, you can take an old towel bar from your bathroom and attach shower curtain hooks to it. Hang your necklaces on the hooks to keep them more organized and to let you easily choose which one you're going to wear for the night.
With a little creativity and a bit of enthusiasm, you can turn normal household items into extraordinary décor pieces. Do you have other repurposing ideas for household pieces?

Black & White Bedroom...Redo

My White & Black Boudoir
with Touches of Red...
A closeup of the new bedspread in the guest room.
 This was the before look....
I fell in love with this Bedspread...YES it's white! But that's why they make fabric protector....RIGHT?
Found it (the bedspread) at Target on clearance for $35.00!
And it is Cal-KING size!
The red pillow is bright with color vs. the blackish red I had before. The gray pillow was nice to find, it blends well with the gray & white chair in the room.
I also changed out the lamps and placed them on either side of the bed.
(They had been in my office!)
I found this Clock at Pier One and it was LOVE at first sight!
I love my Hotel sign....So of course it had to stay!
There is my Gray & White Chair...The fur pillow had been on the bed previously!
The room feels larger with the White Bedspread, and has a cleaner look.
I think this look adds a romantic feel to the room.
My little lady on the right was a gift from a friend!
She looks lovely donning her pearls!
So few changes, yet BIG results!
My touches of red blend better now...
Reds can be hard to match!
A Clean Classy Look with Lots of Style...
